This is Reana. Sadly, her daddy lost his home suddenly and was no longer able to care for her. She was his whole life for her first 13 years, so giving her up was very difficult for him. He thought he was going to have to euthanize Reana because he had nowhere for her to go. Fortunately, an amazing, kind and big-hearted police officer named Murray learned of the situation and wanted to help. He contacted us at Grey Face Rescue to see what we could do -- well, we took one look at this weathered but sweet old face and knew we had to help!!
Despite losing her human of so long, Reana brought pure joy into the rescue -- she was full of life and she had so much love to share with her fosters and all of us right away. But Reana also had a challenge to conquer as well -- in addition to her needing a dental, spay and several mammary masses removed, our vet visits showed she had Lyme's disease, massive ear infections that had caused hematomas and she had a heart murmur. The last one was what worried us most, since if her heart had become too weak, she would not have been able to undergo surgery and would have to be placed in our hospice program. We saw the smiles this girl had brought to her fosters immediately, and we knew there was a family out there who would love to bring her home and spoil her silly with love for the rest of her days. We decided that after all she had been through, that she DESERVED for us to investigate so she could find her perfect forever. So we did the further tests to check out her heart -- and we got good news! Reana was deemed healthy enough to undergo surgery for her mammary mass removal and spay! No surgery is without risks, however, which is why we are taking no chances with this girl and having one of the best vets in the area perform her procedures. She is scheduled for surgery in the next week.
Reana has a forever family already waiting for her. Can you help us provide her with the surgery she needs so she and her new family can start their forever worry free? We are asking for funds to help with the mass removal, spay and dental, along with an additional amount to help cover the medications and laser therapy we did for her ears. We hope too that through this Reana's dad is able to find some peace in his difficult situation, knowing his little girl is healthy and safe. This is why we rescue. Please help Reana by donating to her medical care today. No amount is too small and every dollar will help!
