Penelope (Penny Pie) is a sweet 5 month old brown tabby. She is extremely shy and will need a patient person to work with her to gain trust. She was trapped on industrial highway in York, PA and spayed with the intention of returning her outside. Her finder thought she was too sweet to release back and therefore we stepped in to try and socialize her. Within the last few weeks, she has gotten more comfortable with receiving pets. She used to run from hiding spot to hiding spot within the room. While she doesn’t come to you, if you lay on the floor to pet her in her hiding spot, she starts to flop around like a fish out of water. You could lay there and pet her for hours and she wouldn’t mind one bit. When her foster family is downstairs, they can hear her running around and playing with toys in her room upstairs … so we know for sure there is a playful kitty inside her wanting to come out! While her progress has been slow, she has shown progress, and we couldn’t be more proud. She has been around other cats, and small dogs, and does not seem to mind them. If you are interested in meeting Penny, with the understanding that she will need a lot of TLC and patience, please fill out an adoption application.
You can give the gift of hope and love by purchasing items from Penelope's Wishlist. These items can be sent to her to enjoy now and she can take them with her when she finds her furever home.
