Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas

Welcome! We are BTRNT volunteers, spreading the word about our great pups available for adoption. We often post adoptable dogs here before they ever make it to our website, and sometimes they don't even make it here because we have such a long line of approved adopters.

Patella surgery for Darla

Age: Senior

Hi, My name is Darla and I think I was a ballerina in a previous life.  I do twirls and spins when I'm happy and when it is time to eat.  I'm about 10 years old and I am a tiny girl just about 14 lbs. I don't know why no one took good care of me before I got here...I am a very sweet girl who just loves my humans and other pups... especially my boxer foster brother...he's so handsome! ❤️  When I arrived at my foster moms house I was so sick and thin, and my hair was falling out. It took quite a while and many trips to the vet to get me healthy enough to have surgery on my bad leg and to get HW treatment so I can enjoy my senior years.  Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas is making sure that I can be a prima ballerina again by getting my patella fixed. It's a very expensive surgery for a small rescue to manage and they need help. I hope you will help them...I am worth every penny! Hugs Kisses Darla

Poor Darla has been through so much but continues to have problems. We've been struggling to get her allergies under control  with food changes and medication.  Nothing seems to work and she is miserable so we sent her to an animal dermatology  specialist who indicated that she likely has an auto immune disease, possibly Lupus,  or potentially a rare skin cancer. We are scrambling now to find the funds to pay for her skin biopsy to understand what she's dealing with and how to help her.  Your donations are needed and very much appreciated!

Darla has recovered well from HW treatment and Patella surgery. She is currently battling with a skin issue due to allergies but her foster is taking good care of her. Hopefully we will find her forever home soon!

Darla is improving every day. Her patella has been corrected and she has started heartworm treatment. She still has another four weeks of downtime but hopefully she will be ready for her new forever home soon. Thank you for all of your donations! Please continue to share as we continue to fund raise to cover the cost for treatment.
