Established in 2002, Heidi's Legacy is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization staffed entirely by volunteers. Our goal is to save as many lives as possible so they can enrich the lives of their new adoptive families as they do ours.
Barner was taken off a junk yard lot where he apparently survived without care and proper food for about 5 years. He is undergoing extensive mouth and dental surgery on his cracked teeth with pulp exposure. He will also be neutered. It is believed he was starved so much of the time that he tried eating rocks and hard materials to survive.
He has yeast and bacterial skin infections. It appears There has been damage to his ears as they are not getting a good blood flow. He is way under weight and his nails were curling under; he was covered with fleas and had internal parasites.
The good news is he is heartworm negative and has now been neutered. He is safe! Please contribute to Barner and his medical care, any dollar amount is appreciated and will go toward his deserving second chance.

BARNER is doing really good, has been neutered, had his oral surgery, been otherwise vetted, enjoying good food, and is ready for a foster or foster to adopt home. Interested? This boy is said by the vet staff to be sweet, wags his tail, and has been a nice guest during his vetting. After years of starvation, pain, living in the elements, etc. Barner is ready for a better life. Newer and updated pictures coming soon!
