Almost Home-NO KILL Shelter
Almost Home is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) no-kill organization dedicated to finding loving, forever homes for unwanted, homeless animals. We are strongly against the senseless act of euthanasia. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about keeping Almost Home operating. Our haven radiates warmth, love, and compassion to all animals; young, old, sick, healthy, maimed or beautiful. Our haven is a place for animals to feel safe and be safe.
Almost Home believes every animal can be adoptable. It just takes time, patience and money. Because we rely solely on donations and volunteers, your help literally means the difference between the life and death of a sweet, homeless animal. We have not let any animal down yet, and we don't intend to. THAT IS WHO WE ARE! And without our incredible supporters we couldn't continue our No-Kill mission.

Breed: Pit Bull Terrier
Color: Tan and White
Urgent help needed. This is Gracie. She just came to us by the police. She is in The Emergency Pet Hospital and her body is fighting infection with a fever.
My name is Gracie and I was brought to Almost Home.
The pain is unbearable but my fear is even worse. I am shaking from fever and fear together. The Almost Home people are being real nice to me. I wasn't sure about people but the people at Almost Home I know are good. I'm on my way to Wilson Hospital. Dr Wilson will take good care of me. I saw the staff lady crying real hard. I hope I didn't hurt her. She said she was crying because of me but she was hugging me. I think she's crying because she loves me and hurts for me. She kept saying "When will this stop when, when?????
You see it never will until something is done. It's everywhere.
Please donate toward Gracie's medical care.

Amazing Grace...How sweet the sound! Hello there, Almost Home Family. My name is Gracie, a meek and humble 3-year old Staffy Mix. I've had a rough go and am forever grateful that someone found me when they did. I was brought to Almost Home by Animal Control, who found me in very bad condition. I was found running a 103 degree fever as a stray out in a field, with a large wound in my neck the size of a softball. I was in tremendous pain and was shaking very badly. I would've died out there, till an angel arrived and brought me to the safest place for a cast away like me.
Almost Home wasted no time and rushed me straight to their emergency vet. There I was eased of my pain and provided all of the medical attention and treatment I so desperately needed. I am still on antibiotics and taking things easy, so I can heal well, but I am on my road to recovery. I am looking for a compassionate soul who's heart is moved to call me their own...The apple of their eye, their blessing from above. I'm hoping now to give back some of what I received to someone special. I want to reflect back the love and mercy that has been shown to me.
I show no signs of aggression, and seem to do quite well with cats and other dogs. I am a gentle girl, so I may do well with kids +7 as well. A girl like me will be forever grateful for a Furever Family. There is no doubt in my mind about that. Please come meet me today!

Gracie is on medications still, her neck is healing. It will take time for her to get well and adjust to her new surroundings.

Gracie is still under the Vet's care. She is eating and resting comfortably now.
We are not fully certain, but we do believe that Gracie's injuries were caused by dog fighting. Please continue to help with her medical care funds. Every donation truly helps.
