Head trauma, was completely blind, underweight and dehydrated. Help with Decker's Medical bills!
"It is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving"
*Hi, I'm Decker, a 10-week-old hound puppy. I can't see very well, but I sure love people and am a sweet boy.*
I don't remember anything before the accident. I was walking in circles and crying in the middle of the road. So many cars were just swerving around me, I was in tremendous pain and so scared. I had no idea what was happening, I couldn't think or see anything. Finally, a nice man stopped and took me to the Sanilac County Humane Society.
The ladies and the doctor there took one look at me and knew I was worth saving, but it wasn't easy. I had severe head trauma, was completely blind, underweight and dehydrated. Eating made my tummy sick and I just cried and cried. The vet gave me some medicine to keep me asleep and out of pain for a couple days until they said my "brain swelling" went down.
My vision has slowly come back, and even though they tell me I'm "vision impaired," I can see well enough to get around; they say my sight just may be perfect again someday. The doctor says only time will tell if there's any lasting damage from head trauma.
In the last few weeks, I wasn't sure what would happen to me, but luckily, a loving family adopted me recently and is helping me recover. I am so grateful to Sanilac County Humane Society for taking me in and making sure I got all of the treatment I needed. It is thanks to people like them that dogs like me have a second chance at life.
Sanilac County Humane Society paid for my treatments and still owe $800.00. Would you consider donating to them so that they can continue to save dogs just like me? I am now with a new family who showers me with love and kisses. I want that for other animals in need, too.
*Sanilac County Humane Society needs your help to pay for Decker's medical bills. Once his bills are paid off, we can continue to save more pets just like him. Thank you for your consideration.*

Decker was adopted by the perfect family!
Decker - who is now named Dexter - loves his new home! According to his mom, he has two doggie family members and a cat who he loves to play with. The only time he barks is when big brother Brutus won't let him have his own way. "We are very pleased with how well he meshed into our little unit" she says "He's VERY bright". Dexter uses bells on the door to go outside, knows sit and lay, and is learning to walk on a leash. The other dogs let him snuggle, and he even gets to go to doggie daycare a couple days a week so he doesn't have to stay home alone too long!!
Thank you for supporting Sanilac County Humane Society. It's thanks to all of you that we can make these Happy Tails happen!
Please donate to Decker's fundraiser so we can continue to save more deserving dogs like him!
