Margo aka Margaux was one of over 100 dogs removed from a hoarding situation in Roy, Wa since May.
Four dogs, including Margo, were rescued on August 19th, but there are still more to come. She needs to have 2 masses removed, her nasal passages opened, ears thoroughly cleaned, and some dental work. Margo is a sweet girl and loves sitting on a lap.
Each dog on the property was flea infested, many have coccidia, mites, and this combination of parasites only hint at the other physical problems each pet was suffering from after so much neglect. The older dogs have been bred nearly to death and are suffering the physical toll of it. The younger dogs have medical issues related to pathetic breeding practices like inbreeding and merle to merle, which makes liters more likely to have auditory and visual problems.
Of the 4 we took custody of last night there are 2 males and 2 females. The females have had multiple litters over their years. There are a bonded pair of French Bulldogs - dark brindle sweet as can be, neglected. The nails have curved around into the pads and the females have mammary tumors that will need to be removed.
We also took a sweet brown/Pomeranian and an adorable doxie mix girl that also has a large mammary mass that will need to be removed. She may also be deaf or have sight issues as there were many inbreed dogs onsite. They are all still be evaluated and will be visiting our vet soon for full work ups.
Margo has suffered so much already from the abuses that come along with neglect. Please join us in showing her the compassion and care she deserves!
