Calista - C Section

$775.00 raised of $900.00

Calista was one of over 100 dogs removed from a hoarding situation in Roy, Wa since May.

She was rescued on August 20th, but there are still more to come.  Each dog on the property was flea infested, many have coccidia, mites, and this combination of parasites only hint at the other physical problems each pet was suffering from after so much neglect. The older dogs have been bred nearly to death and are suffering the physical toll of it. The younger dogs have medical issues related to pathetic breeding practices like inbreeding and merle to merle, which makes liters more likely to have auditory and visual problems.  Please join us in showing her the compassion and care she deserves!

Calista = most beautiful Her vet visit was very heartbreaking and very concerning. She's about 8 years of age She weighs 8 lbs with a full load of 7 puppies that are full term. She's in poor body weight, bad patelas (rear knees especially the right), blind in the left eye and has been a host to fleas and worms. She has 2 seizures at the vet and fainted while getting her blood drawn. She probably won't survive labor and delivery so will have to have a planned c-section in the next few days.

  • Well 8/23 at about 3pm Calista decided it was time and started having babies. She delivered a total of 5. The xray looked like 7 so today she and babies went to the vet to make sure all delivered and to check babies. 3 boys and 2 girls. There is one very small girl weighing in at 2.1 oz. So we are supplementing and tube and bottle feeding. Calista's lab results came back and she is very anemic among other levels being very low. So we will be continuing her on high calorie puppy food to help her along as well.

So keep sending those good vibes and thoughts her way.
