Honey has been eating trash and bones to keep her belly feeling full. She is pregnant with 8 puppies, and has been desperate to keep them alive. Honey is very sick and needs to have all of the trash removed from her stomach as soon as possible. Exhausted from walking around the streets without anyone to comfort her, she has been desperately looking for a safe place to deliver her babies.
Honey has also tested positive for heartworms, and needs to be treated for that as well.
Almost Home-No Kill Shelter found Honey roaming the streets and had to bring her to the emergency pet hospital immediately. It was obvious that she is extremely pregnant, but her stomach looked oddly shaped; we knew something was not right. The vet told us that she had most likely been eating anything she could to satisfy her hunger, but now these items were blocking her bowels.
Honey is in distress and she is extremely exhausted. The Dr.'s are doing everything they can to keep her and her babies safe. This is a time sensitive, URGENT matter that needs to be resolved as soon as possible, and Honey will need to be treated for heartworms as well.
Right now Almost Home needs to find a loving foster home for Honey, so she can deliver her babies safely.
If you can find it in your heart to help Honey, we would appreciate it more than you know.
