is now

To better serve our animal-loving community as we move into the future, we plan to expand our offering. And in the process, we thought a name change was in order is now

"Cuddly" is how we feel about animals and it's how animals make us feel. That being said, while there are many upcoming changes, our mission remains the same. We aim to help animals around the world live better lives through innovation, community, and kindness. Thank you for being a part of our movement and, now, the family.

Blind puppy with birth defect fighting to survive

  • Name: River
  • Color: White
  • Size: Small
  • Sex: Male
  • Age: Baby

$1,297.00 raised of $5,000.00

We just took in this 7 week old puppy that was born with a birth defect.

We just rescued River, a tiny puppy that was born with Hydrocephalus. This means water on the brain, and is a buildup of fluid inside the skull. This accumulation puts pressure on the brain, causing signs such as an enlarged, dome-shaped head, seizures, blindness, and behavioral changes. The condition is often congenital, meaning that is present before or at birth. Small dogs are particularly susceptible.

Although this poor boy has a guarded prognosis, we are going to do everything we can to provide him with the best life possible. He is already blind in one eye and almost blind in the other. He is so sweet and deserves a chance at life and that is exactly what we are going to give him. He is currently on medication to help reduce the pressure in his skull so we are crossing our fingers that this will help him be more comfortable. Although there is no cure for Hydrocephalus, we are determined to give this boy a fighting chance.

We will be taking him to the specialist and will have more updates then. We are hoping his sight returns with medication but regardless we will be spoiling him rotten while he is still with us. Please donate so we can give this little baby the best life possible!

  • Little River is doing well and responding well to his medication. It appears that some of the water has gone down with his medications so we are hopeful that will be able to regain some of his sight! Thank you to everyone who has donated thus far! Stay tuned for more updates :)
