Emergency. Huge tumor and emaciated

  • Breed: Doberman Pinscher
  • Name: Addie
  • Color: Brown
  • Size: Medium
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: Adult

Addie has a huge tumor growing on her abdomen and she is so emaciated that you can count the ribs on her frail body. Poor Addie has also lost all of her teeth.

Blood work and x-rays were taken, revealing that she has low protein levels due to starvation, thyroid issues because of poor health, low white blood cell count and anemia, along with an infection caused from her massive tumor.

Addie has been placed on antibiotics for this infection, but all other ailments will require an extensive time to heal. Nonetheless, she is a fighter.

Addie has gained 11 lbs., so we're all hopeful that she will continue her recovery successfully. Vets also believe that while she faces a slew of issues, her prognosis is good. Addie is a very sweet girl and all involved are committed to helping her She restore her health.

Please consider helping us save this fur-baby by donating to her care or purchasing items from her wishlist that will make her happy and comfortable during this journey.

Updates

  • Addie came through surgery with flying colors. It was risky since she is a senior and has a heart murmur Also. The tumor was 5-6 lbs. She must be feeling so much better. They do not see that the cancer has spread but we have to do follow up blood work to see if the abnormalaties where just the results of the tumor or something else. Thank you for the prayers and donations.

  • Addy’s surgery is scheduled for 5/14. Her white blood cell count is low and she is enemic but it could be because of the tumor. She has gained 11lbs. She is just the sweetest girl and we will do what is best for her. The additional pictures are of her trying to jump up for a cookie at the vets office. Please say a prayer for our little  girl
