Bella, one of our Final Refuge dogs, needed emergency surgery this week. She was hospitalized after her foster family noticed she was quite lethargic, not wanting to eat, and her abdomen was tender. An abdominal ultrasound showed that she has splenic torsion, meaning her spleen is twisted around on itself and starting to die. Bella is now out of surgery and doing well, but she will remain in the hospital for another day or two while she recovers.

We are so thankful for an observant and fast-acting foster family and veterinary staff who were able to help Bella so quickly. But now we need your help! Bella's medical costs are at $6200. Please donate to Bella's care costs. We can only care for her and other dogs like her with your help!

  • Good news... Bella is home from the hospital!

Bad news... Bella has racked up more than $7200 in medical bills. We are a completely volunteer run organization and it is your donations alone that allow us to help amazing dogs like Bella.  Please support us right here through Bella's PoundWISHES campaign or you can donate right on our website at

Final Refuge dog, Bella spent 4 days in the hospital after her foster family noticed she was lethargic, not eating, and had a tender abdomen. An abdominal ultrasound discovered she had splenic torsion, meaning her spleen had twisted on it self and was beginning to die. She had emergency surgery on Tuesday, and today she is finally home!

Thank you so much for donating, and thank you to Bella's amazing foster moms and her veterinary team. Bella is a lucky girl!
