Mr. Gray is a senior special needs kitty. He's extremely shy. When we found him, he was injured and hanging out with a community cat colony. There is still shrapnel in his rear leg where someone shot him--no wonder he doesn't trust people. Because of the damage to his leg, he could not continue to live with the colony and we never found an owner.
He's lost many of his teeth during previous dental work. Because of his age and the fact that he's afraid of anyone giving him medication, he will need a day or two of care in the hospital to be sure he's recovering well. You can see how shy and worried his is by those big eyes. Even the camera worries him. This little fellow is so gentle. We can't imagine how anyone could abandon him or shoot at him, but he's safe here for life. Please help us make his ninth life healthy and comfortable.
We are a small all-volunteer rescue with several permanent residents that are on medications. The medications must be purchased every month no matter what is left in our budget. Veterinary dental care is also extremely important for our seniors. It prevents kidney and heart disease that can take their lives, due to tooth decay and infection. Medical expenses are our largest expense, and the most important, next to food of course.
